We believe that getting out into this beautiful world can change your life.

Travel Light is a female owned group adventure company built from a deep love of travel and a belief in what happens when we step outside our routines, challenge ourselves, move our bodies, and connect with people we may have never met otherwise. Because something happens when you get out there. You remember how strong you are. You gain confidence from doing something that once intimidated you. You stand somewhere so beautiful you can’t believe it’s real. You laugh with people who were strangers a few days ago. You get tired, uncomfortable, completely out of your routine, and somehow, you come alive. You remember how lucky you are to be here, on this incredible planet, getting to experience it. That’s what we want for you.

More Than a Trip

We believe humans are meant to be in community and in awe of nature. We’re meant to move our bodies, share meals, tell stories, and connect face to face. Our trips create space for that. We keep our groups small because connection matters to us. We look out for each other, encourage each other, laugh together, eat together, and get through the hard moments together. On a Travel Light trip, we are a team. We get where we’re going together.

Our hope is that you come home with more than photos. We hope you return feeling stronger, more connected, more grateful, and maybe a little more in love with your life. And we hope you bring some of that joy home with you to share with your community.

Why “Travel Light”?

It started with travel: pack less, carry what you need, experience more. But Travel Light has come to mean something much bigger. What lights you up? What makes you feel fully alive? What makes this life worth living for you?

For us, that’s travel. It’s standing in awe of a mountain we worked hard to reach. Experiencing a culture different from our own. Sharing a meal with new friends. Seeing just how enormous and beautiful this world is. Travel is our light. We want to help you discover more of yours.

The Travel Light Experience

We don’t expect you to be the fastest hiker, the most experienced traveler, or the loudest person at the table. We ask you to show up prepared, curious, kind, and willing to give it your best shot. Your trip will be hosted by our founder, Melanie, or one of our incredible Travel Light trip hosts, alongside experienced local guides who help us experience each destination in a deeper and more meaningful way.

Come with a friend or come solo. You don’t need to be an extrovert. You just need to be willing to show up. Your life changes the moment you sign up for one of our trips. Suddenly, there’s something to train for, dream about, and look forward to. Something pulling you toward the version of yourself who actually does the thing you've been talking about doing. And one day, you’re standing in the place you once only saw in photographs thinking: This is my life. I’m actually doing it.
